Reddit analytics for your own posts: what Reddit shows you, what it hides, and what a tracker adds

Reddit does have analytics. Open one of your posts and you'll see views, an upvote rate, and shares. The problem is what happens next: the view count freezes after a few days, the history is gone, nothing is added up across subreddits, and if the post was removed, nothing tells you. What Reddit's post insights show you

Views on your own posts, plus an upvote rate and share count, as the author only.
A country breakdown of viewers on some posts.
Score and comments, obviously, as they stand right now.

Useful, and free. The limitations are structural rather than a matter of finding the right menu.

What it hides

History. You see the number now, not how it got there. Whether a post took off in its first hour or crawled all week is invisible.
The real view count. The “views” label freezes early; the still-updating figure lives in the insights panel and is often several times larger.
Totals across subreddits. The same piece of content posted to six subs is six unrelated posts to Reddit. Which sub actually delivered the audience? You'd have to add it up by hand.
Timing patterns. Reddit will never tell you that your Tuesday-evening posts outperform your Sunday-morning ones. It doesn't keep the data to.
Removals. A post removed by a filter or a moderator still looks live on your profile. Nothing in the analytics says “nobody can see this”.

What a post tracker adds

Snapshots over time: score, comments, upvote ratio, and views recorded every 15–60 minutes, so every post has a trajectory, not just a final number. The first-hour velocity is the number that predicts everything.
Content grouping: every repost of the same link in one card, with total upvotes, comments, and real views, where it landed, and which subs it hasn't reached yet.
Per-subreddit performance: which subs give you views, which give you upvotes without views, and which give you removals.
A best-times heatmap: a 7×24 grid of when your posts actually take off, built from your history rather than a generic chart. Why generic charts fail.
Audience by country, per piece of content and overall, from Reddit's own insights, kept.
Removal alerts and a shadowban check: the part no analytics product bothers with, and the part that decides whether the rest of the numbers mean anything. If a post is removed, or your account stops being visible, you know within minutes, not weeks.

Does Reddit have built-in analytics?

For your own posts, yes: views, upvote rate, shares, and sometimes a country breakdown, visible to you as the author. It doesn't keep history, add up reposts across subreddits, show timing patterns, or tell you when a post was removed.

What is a Reddit post tracker?

Can Reddit analytics tools see other people's data?
